ALTHOUGH LARGELY NEGLECTED UNTIL RECENT YEARS, THE RESERVES STILL AVAILABLE TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF HIGH- GRADE COMPONENTS BY UTILIZING VARIOUS DEBURRING PROCESSES ARE INCREASINGLY BEING RECOGNIZED AND EXPLOITED. IN ADDITION TO THE SELECTION OF THE APPROPRIATE DEBURRING TECHNOLOGY, A DEMAND EXISTS FOR FURTHER AUTOMATIZATION AND LOWER ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT WITH RESPECT TO DIRT AND NOISE EMISSIONS. STATE-OF-THE-ART MECHANICAL DEBURRING IS PRESENTED BY DESCRIBING THE FUNDAMENTALS OF VARIOUS DEBURRING PROCESSES TOGETHER WITH CURRENT APPLICATIONS.
