THE USE OF NONFERROUS BLAST MEDIA SUCH AS STAINLESS STEEL CAST SHOT AND CUT WIRE, ZINC CUT WIRE, GLASS, AND PLASTICS IS RECEIVING INCREASED ATTENTION IN MANY INDUSTRIES. ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR IMPROVED QUALITY ARE SOME OF THE REASONS. THIS PAPER WILL DISCUSS ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF NONFERROUS ABRASIVES, RELATIVE COSTS, AND TYPICAL APPLICATIONS CURRENTLY IN USE AND UNDER DEVELOPMENT.
