THE GREATEST ADVANTAGE BESIDES HIGH PRODUCTIVITY IS THAT IT ALSO PRODUCES HIGH MACHINED SURFACE QUALITY (ALMOST GRINDING QUALITY). THIS PAPER PRESENTS THE THEORETICAL FOUNDATIONS OF THE TURN MILLING PROCESS, THE PROCESS DYNAMICS MEASUREMENT AND THE CONNECTION BETWEEN MACHINE TOOL ACCURACY AS WELL AS THE INFLUENCE OF THE TURN MILLING UNIT DESIGN ON THE MACHINE TOOL STIFFNESS.
