METAL REMOVAL RATE AND SURFACE QUALITY ACHIEVABLE IN HIGH PERFORMANCE GRINDING PROCESSES USING SUPERABRASIVES ARE LIMITED BY THE DYNAMIC BEHAVIOR OF THE ENTIRE SYSTEM CONSISTING OF MACHINE TOOL, GRINDING WHEEL AND WORKPIECE. IN THIS PAPER, THE APPLICATION OF A SPECIAL VIBRATION DAMPED BODY MATERIAL IS COMPARED TO A CONVENTIONAL STEEL BASED BODY WITH RESPECT TO IT'S GRINDING BEHAVIOR.
