This paper discusses an abrasive filament medium which is ideal for deburring and edge radiusing powdered metal components. When formatted into brushing tools, it can be applied on machine based systems for semiautomated or fully automated deburring of PM parts. Brush options are discussed as are several systems for applying abrasive brushes to the parts. It will be demonstrated that, through proper application, abrasive filament brushes offer a productive, high quality and economically attractive means of deburring PM components.
