A toroidal sharpening procedure applied to twist drills is approached in terms of kinematics and clearance surface geometry which makes use of an irregularly shaped grinding wheel. The grinding wheel axial shaping can be achieved by using a device of kinematics suitable to the diamond tip or by pressing.
