THE APPLICATIONS OF CBN WHEELS ARE CONTINUING TO EXPAND AS THE SEARCH CONTINUES FOR HIGH PRODUCTIVITY, HIGH PRECISION, LOWER PRODUCTION COSTS, AND AUTOMATED PRODUCTION. IN THIS PAPER, A STUDY IS FOCUSED ON THE TRUING AND DRESSING TECHNIQUES WHICH CAN BE APPLIED TO VITRIFIED CBN WHEELS. ALSO, FROM THE VIEWPOINT OF RESIDUAL WORKPIECE STRESS, THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE VITRIFIED CBN WHEELS IS COMPARED WITH THE USE OF CONVENTIONAL WHEELS. THE EXPERIMENTAL TRUING AND DRESSING DEVICE BUILT INTO THE DOUBLE DISK GRINDER EQUIPPED WITH THE RESINOID BOND CBN WHEELS ALSO IS INTRODUCED.
