THIS PAPER EXAMINES THE LATEST IN CMM STATISTICAL PROCESS CONTROL SOFTWARE. IT DESCRIBES THE CAPABILITIES OF THESE NEW SYSTEMS TO PROVIDE REAL-TIME STATISTICAL MONITORING OF PROCESS CONTROL LIMITS, TOLERANCE LIMITS, PERCENT TOLERANCE LIMITS, AND TRENDS DETECTION IN THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS. ADDITIONAL DISCUSSIONS COVER CONVENTIONAL SPC CHARTING, GAGE CAPABILITY STUDIES, AND A NEW PROCESS OF DYNAMIC INSPECTION SAMPLING TO ALLOW CONCENTRATING LIMITED INSPECTION RESOURCES ON THE MORE CRITICAL ELEMENTS OF A PROCESS.
