THIS PAPER DESCRIBES SOME SIMPLE VIDEO ENHANCEMENTS USED TO AID HUMAN INSPECTORS IN A LARGE U.S. TEXTILE MILL. AS A PRECURSOR TO FULLY AUTOMATED MACHINE VISION. THIS MANUFACTURER EXPLORED THE VIABILITY OF ORDINARY VIDEO ENHANCEMENTS FOR A LARGE ASSORTMENT OF FABRIC DEFECTS OVER A LARGE RANGE OF FABRIC TYPES.
