This paper describes the issues related to using Web Technology (ie: HTTP servers and HTML browsers) to create complex product data systems. The exploding use of this technology as a corporate intranet makes this application extremely attractive to companies who want to leverage internet technology to reduce costs and improve productivity across their enterprise thus gaining a significant competitive advantage.
