This paper describes the detailed process used by Becton Dickinson & Company to create injection molds for precision medical components using the 3D-Keltool process. Issues related to mold design, master fabrication, polishing, segmenting, assembling and molding are covered. Finally, two case studies are described where Becton Dickinson successfully used these techniques to gain early product technology.
