This standard defines requirements for documented competence which may be required of personnel performing inspection of in-service equipment in accordance with an accredited inspection system. This standard defines three levels of competence. NOTE To ensure effective and correct inspection of in-service equipment and plants, it is vital to ensure that persons performing inspections or responsible for inspection have adequate qualifications. A certification will help document the qualifications of those performing inspections in accordance with Regulations concerning Flammable or Pressurized Substances, or similar regulations within other jurisdictions.
