Denna standard kan tillämpas vid bestämning av aluminium, bly, järn, kadmium, kobolt, koppar, krom, mangan, nickel och zink i vatten, slam och sediment. Standarden medger bestämning av så vel vattenlösliga som syrauppslutna metallfraktioner; för slam och sediment beskrivs enbart bestämning av syrauppslutna fraktioner. Standarden är avsedd att användas tilsammans med de generella anvisningar som finns i SS 02 81 50.
