This procedure covers the design verification testing of electrical terminals, connectors, and components that constitute the connection systems in 12 VDC vehicle applications. This procedure is only applicable to terminals used for In-Line, Header, and Device connector systems. It is not applicable to Edge-Board connector systems. Purpose of the Components: The terminals used in this specification are required for electrical distribution of current and voltage. These devices are normally part of connector assemblies. Connector assemblies contain terminals, insulator, wedges/terminal locks, and seals (when applicable). The connector assemblies are then attached to wiring harnesses and the wiring harnesses are used to distribute the current and voltage to electrical devices; such as headlamps, switches, electronic modules, etc. Suppliers are required to meet all portions of this document with the following exceptions: specific tests that are not required or additional test requirements as specified on the Part Drawing, Product Design Specification, or Test Order
