Specifies requirements for portable, non-rechargeable, stored-pressure type fire extinguishers which have been limited to 2.0 kg or 2.0 L in size, as units of this type are considered suitable primarily for use in domestic and other allied areas (i.e. homes, caravans, boats and the like). Doubts exist relating to the long-term efficiency and safety of such units if they are used or kept beyond the specified discard date. However, a monitoring of field experiences will be carried out, reviewed every two years and, if satisfactory, the limitation on size will be reconsidered.
