This method describes a procedure for determining the flexing resistance of paper or lightweight paperboard and the handling stiffness of paper by determining the critical test length when the specimen is suspended at one end as a cantilever. For heavier paperboard, TAPPI T 489 "Stiffness of Paperboard" is more suitable.
