This method, based on a study by Herrlinger and Warrell (1) deals with the analysis of skimmings only in terms of those components which are considered of chief interest to the producers and consumers of skimmings.
The test includes: (1) density, (2) total solids, (3) tall oil content, (4) total alkali, (5) lignin and pulp content, (6) water content, and (7) calcium content by gravimetric or nephelometric methods.
