This TIP provides an operating procedure to measure the rub resistance of a printing ink. It also can be used to evaluate rub resistance of a printed corrugated box. It is intended for use in a boxplant as a means of measuring rub resistance. The TIP provides information for trend analysis, problem investigation, and quality improvement. It is not intended for universal basis for acceptance/rejection criteria of ink shipments without further study and
discussion with individual customers or ink suppliers.
