The aims of this paper are to provide basic guidance in the understanding and evaluation of a Paper Machine Approach (PMA) screening system, which is also know as a Head Box screening system. The paper includes tips for maintaining system performance, and a troubleshooting guide. This paper is directed specifically to engineers and managers new to the paper industry and/or screening systems.
