Computer-assisted machinery is in common use in boxplants. In order for the box manufacturer to get the full benefits of this expensive and sophisticated equipment, it must be kept up and running. With a limited amount of computer-assisted machinery in a boxplant, it is dependent upon the supplier's computer expertise.
The boxplant maintenance personnel must be able to maintain and/or communicate about the electronic technology which is the base on which the computer rests.
