This TIP provides guidelines and procedures for tube thickness measurements in all of the fireside areas of a recovery boiler. Examination of casing-side corrosion is not within the scope of this TIP. Several techniques and instruments that may be used for inspecting tubes in different parts of a recovery boiler are described. Further, this document describes example inspection scopes for various parts of a recovery boiler, based on the experience of Task Group members.
