The purpose of this Technical Information Paper is to provide a reference basis only from which mill engineers may readily compute the approximate cubic feet per minute (meters cubed per hour) of air required by the vacuum system for conventional fourdriniers and fourdriniers with top wire forming units (excluding vacuum assisted types) and for press section suction rolls and felt suction boxes.
It must be stressed that the selection factors given in this TIP are only guidelines. For accurate sizing, and selection with specific applications, vacuum suppliers and/or machine builders should be consulted.
