This Addendum adds balanced single twisted-pair topology, architecture, and installation requirements to ANSI/TIA-568.1-E and provides guidelines on building locations where single-pair cabling can be deployed. This Addendum provides balanced single twisted-pair cabling installation guidelines in accordance with ANSI/TIA-568.5 for intelligent building systems (IBS), Internet of things (IoT), machine to machine (M2M), and operational technology (OT) applications and device connections.

This Addendum also adds new requirements for cabling for wireless access points when using balanced twisted-pair cabling.
