The SCS 9001 handbook is specifically designed to ensure the security and supply chain management needs of the ICT industry are met. At the same time, it is acknowledged that the handbook’s requirements and measurements are also applicable for any industry segment that utilizes technology, supports communications, or interfaces with our networks.

The handbook establishes a common set of Supply Chain Security management system requirements for suppliers of hardware, software, and services. The requirements are built, in part, on existing industry standards.

The handbook defines a recommended set of performance measurements. The measurements are selected to measure progress and evaluate results of a Supply Chain Security management system implementation. In the future, certification to SCS 9001 will include a demonstrated conformance to the measurements, and clarifications communicated through TIA QuEST Forum Information Alerts.

Purpose

The purpose of SCS 9001 is to define the Supply Chain Security management system requirements, controls, and measurements for the design, development, production, delivery, installation, and maintenance of hardware, software, and services. SCS 9001 includes performance-based measurements that quantify reliability and supply chain security performance of these products and services.
