SCOPE AND LIMITS OF TESTING

Interoperability testing as described in this document is limited to functional operations integral to the performance of voice and supplemental data procedures between Subscriber Units (mobiles and portables), FNE (repeaters, fixed base stations) and DMC (Dispatch and/or Monitoring Consoles). Mobile radios used as base stations (i.e. not being used in a mobile application) are considered Subscriber Units. The specific features that are tested herein are limited to those functions identified in [1]. The different system configurations of SU to SU, SU to FNE to SU and SU to FNE with DMC have been included in separate sections for clarity.

Tests are included which specify that a DMC is part of the FNE. The DMC is not under test in these test cases. These test cases use the DMC as a stimulus and a measure of success. No wire-line standards are tested by this document.
