This addendum provides the following enhancements to the Requirements for Battery-Powered, Portable Land Mobile Radio Applications in Class I, II, and III, Division 1, Hazardous (Classified) Locations (ANSI/TIA-4950-B-1) standard:
1. Adds enhancements to match current practice and other international intrinsic safety requirements, e.g., in EN/IEC/UL 60079-11 Edition 7:
a. Subclause 7.12.3;
b. Testing per subclause 9.6.4;
c. Distance through Solid Insulation.
This document only includes information relevant to the scope as described above. The reader is referred to ANSI/TIA-4950-B for all other pertinent information. The next complete revision of ANSI/TIA-4950-B will incorporate the changes contained in this addendum.
Note that section numbers identified in this addendum directly translate to section numbers in ANSI/TIA-4950-B, Requirements for Battery-Powered, Portable Land Mobile Radio Applications in Class I, II, and III, Division 1, Hazardous (Classified) Locations.
