Introduction

This Plan discusses the administration of assigning unique Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD) Identifiers to the CDPD Network community.

A number of issues must be considered before starting any registration service. This Plan provides an explanation of critical areas where policies and procedures must be developed, and describes the role and responsibilities of the CDPD registration staff. Additionally, it discusses the importance of developing registration templates and software in conjunction with using manual logs, while providing the capability of displaying this information to the world. This plan also discusses the major Identifiers assigned by the CDPD NIC, and provides sample registration templates for each Identifier. The CDPD NIC will use this plan to administer unique Identifiers to their network community.
