The new Third Edition of the Standard for Fixed and Location-Dedicated Electric Room Heaters, UL 2021, is being issued with the following:
Addition and revision of requirements to relocate component standard references from Appendix A into the body of the standard as component requirements.
Deletion of obsolete asbestos wire and reference to asbestos material.
Additional requirements for switches serving as disconnect means of fixed electric room heaters.
Field mounting of heating elements.
Revision to include an exception to the audible/visual alarm requirement for heaters that employ certain types of over-temperature limit controls.
