These requirements cover fire dampers that are intended for use where air ducts penetrate or terminate at openings in walls or partitions; in air transfer openings in partitions; and where air ducts extend through floors as specified in the Standard for Installation of Air-Conditioning and Ventilating Systems, NFPA 90A. Fire dampers are intended for installation in accordance with codes such as the BOCA National Mechanical Code, Standard Mechanical Code, Uniform Mechanical Code, and the International Mechanical Code.
