1 Scope
1.1 These requirements cover the design and construction of welded steel tanks of the atmospheric type with a maximum capacity of 60 to 660 gallons (227 to 2500 L) intended for unenclosed installation inside of buildings or for outside aboveground applications as permitted by the Standard for Installation of Oil-Burning Equipment, ANSI/NFPA 31, primarily for the storage and supply of fuel oil for oil burners.
1.2 These tanks are intended for installation and use in accordance with the Standard for the Installation of Oil-Burning Equipment, ANSI/NFPA 31, and the Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code, ANSI/NFPA 30, of the National Fire Protection Association.
