This Standard covers the design and construction of aboveground steel non-pressure tanks intended for installation inside or outside buildings for the storage of combustible liquid intended to be used as heating fuel and/or generator fuel; and lubricating oil.
This Standard also covers:
- single wall tanks, tanks with secondary containment (of double wall and open or closed secondary containment) and double bottom tanks;
- tanks having a maximum capacity of 2500 L;
- tanks fabricated, inspected and tested for leakage before shipment from the factory; and
- design and construction of tanks for use in stationary installations. These tanks are not designed for the transportation of fuel.
