This method is for determining sodium in alumina and silica alumina base catalysts. It is also applicable to deposits, corrosion products and aqueous solutions. Loss on ignition is determined by UOP Method 275 to permit the calculation of results on a volatile-free basis. The lower limit of detection is approximately 0.0002 mass-%.
