This method is for determining true density of powders and solids by displacement of helium gas. This method is written for use with a Quantachrome Null-Pycnometer, however, equivalent equipment is satisfactory. If pretreatment of the sample such as calcination or outgassing, is required, it must be carried out prior to analysis.
