Due to the further development of computational methods for the thermal behaviour of rooms and the availability of faster processors, there are no longer any reasons to limit and/or simplify the algorithms. The new cooling load regulations serve, therefore, not only to determine the cooling load of rooms that need to be air-conditioned, but equally for calculating the temperatures of rooms of all kinds with allowance being given to the correct wall structures. System components that affect the thermal behaviour of the room, such as mechanical or natural ventilation and panel heating or cooling, are an integral part of the computation method and should no longer be determined by means of approximation procedures.
The scope of this standard, therefore, extend to
of rooms of all kinds with and without airconditioning systems, taking into consideration all the relevant parameters that affect the room's thermal behaviour.
The definition of the cooling design period and cooling design day serves to standardise the startup calculation, correctly allowing for heat storage by foregoing a calculation of a steady state. The steady state may only apply in cases where maintaining a maximum temperature should be ensured for technological reasons, and it needs to be agreed.
