This standard applies to the transportation of flat precast concrete elements with a loading width of 3,00 m maximum, being transported by the vehicles referred to in Section 4.2. This standard is intended for the use of consignors, carriers, shippers, vehicle operators (drivers), vehicle owners and such persons as the law, ordinances, contracts or other codes of practice make responsible for securing the load and for safe transportation. Their areas of responsibility derive from national regulations, statutory provisions and also – in the case of international transportation – from the corresponding legislation and regulations of the countries in question.

Demonstrably equivalent load-securing measures or those which secure better than the ones described in this standard can also be used. The persons responsible must ensure that load-securing measures are correctly dimensioned, combined and implemented for each specific individual case.
