The present guideline applies to transportation vehicles suitable for carrying medium-heavy to heavy commercial vehicles with an instantaneous vehicle mass of 4 t to 20 t and a maximum wheel diameter of 1,25 m and which have been equipped in accordance with the provisions of this guideline. This guideline is intended for the use of drivers, vehicle owners, shippers and vehicle body manufacturers. Their areas of responsibility derive from the statutory provisions of national road traffic and industrial safety legislation and also from the corresponding legislation and regulations in the member states of the European Union.
