This standard describes the state of the art in the field of catalytic waste gas cleaning. It serves as the basis for method selection, design, operation and ecological and economic evaluation of facilities and catalysts for catalytic waste gas cleaning. The emphasis is on questions relating to the practical implementation of these methods.
The theoretical principles of catalytic processes and process modelling are presented where they are needed by system manufacturers and operators for the planning and operation of catalysts and systems. The issues of economical operation, system safety and warranty are of particular significance for these methods.
Special applications, for which straightforward transferability does not exist according to the empirical experience presented here, usually require separate technical tests.
This standard is limited to the use of catalytic waste gas cleaning in stationary facilities and processes.
Examples and experience from implemented systems are an important part of these Standards. In particular, information is provided about achievable emission levels from implemented systems. The examples provide an overview of the range of applications, and permit assessments to be made about their transferability to new fields of application.
