The fundamental principle is that technical safety requirements arising from health and safety, industrial safety and fire safety specifications are superordinate to temperature measurement. Where special rules exist that relate to particular subject area, they apply additionally.
This standard does not apply to ice monitors, radiation thermometers and bimetallic thermometers.
