The purpose of this paper is to present nomographs and charts which are useful in the solution of a wide variety of beam-column problems.
Methods are presented for the determination of the load-deflection behavior of restrained beam-columns of constant cross section. The restraint may be elastic or elasticplastic, and failure is assumed to take place by excessive bending in the plane of the applied moments. Several example problems illustrate the application of the charts.
