This guide specification covers the requirements for insulated wire and cable for use on hydraulic structures, except for wire and cable for special applications, such as low-level circuits for analog signals, data and supervisory control, communication and telemetering systems. Specification of wire and cable for special applications may be found in other technical guide specifications for the system to which the wire and cable will be applied. Otherwise, the designer must develop and write specifications listing the salient characteristics for the basis of design of the special wire and cable needed.
