Sets out constructional and optical requirements for microfiche readers intended for continuous use over periods exceeding one hour. Includes test methods for measuring screen luminance, screen reflectance of rear projection readers, screen contrast, temperature of microfiche, resolution, legibility, magnification and distortion. Test methods for measuring resolution, legibility, magnification and distortion require use of Australian Standard Test microfiche AS 2656. To account for continuous use over long periods, the optical requirements of this Standard are more stringent than those of other microfiche reader Standards.
