Sets out constructional and optical requirements for microfiche readers intended for continuous use over periods not exceeding one hour. Also covers the reading facilities of microfiche reader-printers. Includes test methods for measuring screen luminance, screen reflectance of rear projection readers, screen contrast, temperature of microfiche, resolution, legibility, magnification and distortion. Test methods for measuring resolution, legibility, magnification and distortion require use of Australian Standard Test microfiche AS 2656. To provide only for intermittent use, the optical requirements of this Standard are less stringent than those of AS 2653.
