This Standard relates to numerical assessment of departures from ideal roundness determined by the following preferred procedures: (a) determination from the minimum zone centre (MZC); (b) determination from the least squares centre (LSC). The terminology to be used is laid down together with certain instrument characteristics which are essential to ensure compatibility of results from instruments based on different design principles. The information to be given in statements of departures from roundness is also included. The appendix gives guidance and general information on the assessment of departures from ideal roundness.
