This Standard applies to generators and motors which are rated for 1 h.p. 0.75 kW or 0.75 kVA per 1000 rev/min or greater. No upper limit is placed on the power rating. All the machines specified are assigned either a continuous maximum rating or a shot-time rating. The standard also classifies the various types of enclosures which may be employed.
