This specification covers two types of air-drying moisture-resisting finishing varnish which shall be suitable for coils, armatures and the like. The two types of varnish are recognised as follows: - Type 1, varnish with methylated spirit solvent; type 2, varnish with non-alcoholic solvent. When it is necessary for the varnish to be thinned for use, the kind and proportion of solvent to be added shall be specified by the varnish maker.
