Part 2 specifies coating thickness, corrosion resistance and other requirements for coatings on threaded steel fasteners having inch series threads specified in the various Australian and British Standards. It refers to inch series general-purpose bolts, screws and nuts and may be used for wood and self-tapping screws. Appendices cover surface areas of the various screws, bolts and nuts, statistical basis of sampling procedure, examples of effect of manufacturing tolerances on plating thickness calculations, and heat-treatment procedures.
