Sets out thicknesses of coatings for fasteners having threads specified in AS B46, B47, B133, B154, and BS 93 and 811. It applies particularly to bolts, screws and nuts specified in AS B50, B85, B117, B147, B149, and BS 57, 450 and 3155, and may also be used for wood screws and self-tapping screws. Sampling and inspection, thicknesses, methods of establishing pre-plating dimensions for external and internal threads are covered, and a foreword gives the basis of the specification requirements. Appendices provide notes on surface areas (including tables for calculation of surface areas for screws, bolts and nuts with BSW, BSF, UNC, UNF, BA, BSC and BSP threads), give a statistical basis for the sampling procedure, describes methods of thickness measurement, and include examples of calculations.
