Meehanite GD250 is an intermediate-tensile-strength, pearlitic gray cast iron grade that has a minimum tensile strength of 250 MPa (36 ksi), when determined on test pieces machined from separately cast, 30 mm (1.2 in.) diameter test bars. Owing to its good machinability, it is suitable for mass produced parts for automobiles as well as for small hydraulic bodies that must be pressure tight.
