View Sample Alloy Digest Data Sheet (PDF)

Since 1952, Alloy Digest has been the leading reference for materials property data on metals and alloys used throughout the world. Featuring graphs, charts and tables, these sheets give facts and figures on composition or characterization, physical and mechanical properties, heat treatment, and machinability.

COLMONOY NO. 5 comprises a chromium-boride-containing, nickel-base alloy recommended for hard surfacing parts to resist wear, corrosion, heat and galling. Deposits, which have only moderate hardness (Rockwell C 45-50), may be machined with carbide tooling. Also, deposits have fairly good workability, ductility and impact strength. Colmonoy No. 5 is supplied as crushed powder for application with Wall Colmonoy's SPRAYWELD* Process. Also, it is supplied as bare or coated rod for either oxyacetylene or DC electric-arc (reverse polarity) application, as well as castings.
