NI-ROD 44HT is designed for joining iron castings to similar materials and to dissimilar materials such as carbon and stainless steels and nickel-base alloys. The product is similar to NI-ROD Filler Metal 44 (see Alloy Digest Fe-114), but is modified to significantly improve its performance at elevated temperatures. The alloy is Ni-Fe-Mn with an addition of chromium and niobium to improve its resistance to high-temperature corrosion.
